With kids nowadays growing up so fast, it’s hard to know where to draw the line in the sand when it comes to age-appropriate swimwear but we’ve found a benchmark in new bikini brand surlaplage.
The range is cutie patootie meets sporty beach wear for kids aged from 6-14. The label has been created by a Dutch Australian duo. who share over 10 years of experience in design. Having grown up on the beach in Australia and in Europe’s style capitals, they merge to bring you ‘beach chic’ for your little people. The well-travelled partners draw inspiration from beaches, sunshine and all things summer.
The surplage 2017 collection includes rash shirt-sets, bathers and bikini tops, along with adorable hats and on-trend sunglasses to protect your child’s precious eyes from the harsh Aussie rays.
The fresh summer vibe is set to inject cool and funky into rash shirts and sun protection.

Even though most of us have zero clue what the heck Despacito is about, nor cannot for the life of us sing along to anything other than the chorus – Despacito is now the most downloaded song of all time. Like, EVER.
Yes, this catchy little ditty that features everyones egg-throwing favourite next door neighbour Justin Bieber, has reached in excess of 4/6 billion streams in just 6 months.
Already shaping up to be the biggest hit of 2017, the song has even surpassed Beib’s his own record that he previously set with “Sorry” and its associated remixes, which to date have accumulated 4.38 billion plays.
After dominating radio, streaming, and music videos during the past six months, “Despacito” shows no signs of slowing, with a long line of industry accolades, achievements and records eclipsed on its unprecedented ascent to the top of the global charts.
Commenting on the milestone, Luis Fonsi said, “Streaming is a connector for audiences worldwide and it has helped my music reach every corner of the planet. It is truly an honor that ‘Despacito’ is now the most streamed song in history.”
Sir Lucian Grainge, Chairman & CEO, Universal Music Group, said: “Luis Fonsi already had the undisputed, biggest song of the year – and now he’s setting even bigger records. Streaming has opened up the possibility of a song with a different beat, from a different culture and in a different language to become a juggernaut of success around the world. My congratulations to Luis Fonsi, Daddy Yankee and Justin Bieber, as well as everyone at Universal Music Latin Entertainment, Republic Records and Def Jam, on this tremendous accomplishment.”
“Streaming has democratized music consumption, it has made Latin music increasingly relevant on the charts and it has amplified our songs and videos to a world stage,” said Jesús Lopez, Chairman & CEO of Universal Music Latin America & Iberian Peninsula. “‘Despacito’ has broken every record thanks to Luis Fonsi’s talent and creativity, which have positioned him as a pillar of Latin music for the past 20 years. I also congratulate Erika Ender, Daddy Yankee and Justin Bieber for their valuable contributions, as well as the different teams involved in the success of this song.”
And for three people who haven’t yet seen it, we’ve included below this fabulous video of a Father torturing his daughter in making her dance to the tune when played, which may in fact be half the downloads mentioned above. Enjoy!
Hey there Mama, would you like a cup of a little something, something that’s been marinating in just a wee bit of bacteria and yeast for a while? No, I’m not talking about the cup of tea you left on the kitchen bench that you found a week later in summer. I’m talking the latest buzz drink for health enthusiasts – kombucha.
Ok, so here’s the thing – lots of things in life are good for you and taste bad. And there there’s things that are bad for you, and taste good. And there’s things that are good for you and TASTE GOOD. Apparently MOJO Kombucha is one of those things.
So, what the heck is Kombucha, anyway?
Turns out kombucha is a fermented, sparkling tea full of active enzymes, organic acids and proven probiotics that offers a range of health benefits, including gut health, vitamin B12 and immune support. So, here we establish it’s good for you. But what does it TASTE LIKE?
Kind of like a snazzy Yakult but less milky and more thirst quenching, MOJO Kombucha has no added sugar (it is only used at start of the ferment to feed the culture), it’s a living product (not in an Alien kind of way, but think full of living healthy yeast and bacteria doing backstroke in your beveage), is certified organic, vegan- friendly and gluten-free.
MOJO Kombucha comes in a bunch of yummy flavours including ginger, turmeric, blueberry + ginger, lemon citris, rasberry passion, peppermint greens, strawberry hibiscus and perfect passion fruit.
But the jury is still out on the taste.
We want you to test-drive this one for us and let us know what you think of MOJO Kombucha. To win some, tell us below what choice of flavour you’re crushing on, and why you’d benefit from drinking this rather dubious beverage.
*Disclaimer – winner will receive a month of MOJO, one a day, every day totaling 3 dozen. Delivery would need to be in metropolitan areas, and be able to be received personally, as the product must remain refrigerated.
Baby, its cold outside. Freaking cold. And inside. It’s cold inside, too. In fact, it feels below zero everywhere you go right about now, for that matter.

I always get a little nervous when test-driving skin products.
A few reasons; my skin isn’t what it used to be at middle-age – combined with the fact it’s super sensitive. It gets upset by the littlest things and has a tendency to blow things out-of-proportion and carry on like a pork chop. Like, if my skin were a person, it would Kim. Right here. Ya feeling it?
So when the Mother Driven offices were sent the new EAU THERMALE Avene Hydrance OPTIMALE (aka snazzy new moisturizer by snooty yet affordable French brand), I was hesitant and then excited to read the formula is especially ‘for sensitive skin’. Just what the dermal doctor ordered.
What I loved about this trial run was the ETAHO (aka SNMBSYAFB) isn’t too oily so when I used it, my makeup (and clean pillowcase) remained intact. I personally don’t dig oily skin products whatsoever, at any time of day or night, including eye-makeup remover. I try to avoid any products that resemble a slippery, slimy car salesman – they just leave me feeling like I’ve been taken for a ride and downright icky.
The ETAHO is light and as it comes with a teeny, tiny, adorable, wee spoon; the indication here is you only need the tiniest amount to cover your face (and neck, if you so should chose). Within this, you can read this small punnet will be long-lasting, so no frequent refills required, hence you save $$$.#Winning
The crème is a light spread, not at all heavy on the skin, and my face did in fact stay true to this moisturisers’ namesake of ‘hydrance’; my skin was definitely hydrated and noticeably smooth both night and day (I used it for both). Also, I loved there is no overpowering, stinky fragrance included – it’s officially pong-free. Zero pong.
But best of all, my skin had no break out moments or episodes, which is always a good thing when you’re dealing with an easily upset dermis with ‘issues’.
If ‘after’ was a person, it would look like this.
Too Yeasy and two thumbs up.
